Paul here shows us that God- Father, Son and Spirit -are all involved in enabling individuals supernaturally to serve Him in the church. There are many gifts that the Holy Spirit gives to each one of us. Each gift may be used in many different ways and with different results. For example the gift of encouragement may be used from the pulpit or in an counselling session. The person may receive encouragement to remain in a difficult relationship or indeed the opposite- to leave a sinful relationship.
