1 Corinthians 12.1-3: Charismata

The chaotic behaviour manifested in Corinthian communion services also extended to the area of spiritual gifts. Paul begins a discussion here that will last until chapter 14. We are told not to be ignorant about this subject of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Ignorance can lead to deception, misunderstanding and indifference. Let us not settle with the labels and cliches, such as “pentecostal”, “charismatic” or “spirit-filled.” We need to be informed by what the Scriptures teach. God has gifted each one of us so we can serve Him in the assembly. If you want to be a somebody you need to be in some body.
