1 Corinthians 10.1-22: Kissing The Fish Hook
The nation of Israel had so many blessings- God’s Word and many Spirit filled prophets. Sadly from the generation that was dramatically rescued from Egypt only 2 guys made it. They desired evil things at the same time as they were receiving good things.
Our sinful nature inside is like a big magnet. It attracts what we think we really want- comfort, respect, acceptance, fame etc. So when we are being tempted we often facing a shortcut to get what we want albeit not from God as the source. As Christians we have a new nature and with its comes deeper desires which cause us to follow after God. As we feel tempted let’s ask these questions: What is it that I want? and What do I feel I gain by doing this?. The way out God promises in our temptation is finding our needs in Him in His entirety. Temptation therefore is an opportunity to worship or
sin.
